homemade apple crisp

after picking up a whole basket full of apples this weekend, i decided to make a homemade apple crisp. fall baking is one of my favorite things to do pumpkins, apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, all the smells. i love a good apple crips and this was my first time making a homemade one. after i made it, kristopher kept saying he didn't think he would like it because he doesn't like mushy apples. but once i had my helping and was settling down on the couch, he came around the corner with a helping for himself. i would call that a success and a new family favorite. this has been the first real bit of fall that we have had in our home, except for the store bought pumpkin pie i picked up last week. it finally has me in the mood for sweaters and cooler weather.
