Friday Roundup

So so thankful that it is almost the weekend.

I love a good tote and I love the simplicity of this tote, plus it can be monogrammed. What southern girl doesn't love a good monogrammed tote? Also, the tote in the photo above is on my ultimate wish list! Oh how much I would love a Goyard tote! The navy is just stunning.

After 4 years, we are finally giving the laundry room a little refresh. It isn't a huge room, but we walk through it all the time to come and leave the house. This room is just asking for some wallpaper, or a pineapple stencil on the wall. Either way, this room will have some pineapples in it!

Old Navy had an amazing sale for Superbowl Sunday, and I snagged a few things that I had my eye on. Favorite of all might have been this tassel cross body

Have you ever heard of Beauty Counter? They carry makeup, skin care and bath products that contain products that are good for you. Each Monday, Beauty Counter has a #MakeupMonday sale. This past Monday they offered a free All Over Eye Brush when your purchased a Touchup Skin Concealer Pen. I got both along with a Citrus Mimosa Body Bar. I am super excited to try all of these!

Valentine's Day is on Sunday, here is a gift guide, bar cart and tablescape to get you in the Valentines mood! We are going to be at home enjoying a yummy home cooked dinner, instead of heading out to fight the chaos! I pulled out my favorite Valentinesish themed purse. It is one of my favorites. I have had this Dooney and Bourke since high school, and I don't think I can ever part with it.

I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Valentine's Day Table

Valentine's Day is less than a week away, and I am excited to celebrate with a fancy dinner at home. The hubs has been planning a delicious menu and I cannot wait to see what he cooks. Since he is doing the cooking, I am setting a table just perfect for 2. I am looking forward to sitting down to a sweet dinner with my hubby.

Do y'all have any plans for Valentines Day yet?

I worked in a florist for a few years and I got the pleasure of enduring a few Valentine's Days and let me tell you, it was not as much fun as the other 364 days of the year. So, because of that, I am not a fan of red roses and I prefer the bunches of flowers you can get at the grocery store over perfectly arranged bouquets that are delivered by the local florist. KJ has always gotten me a bouquet of those aforementioned perfectly arranged bouquets and they always look so pretty, but are dead about a week later. Since I worked at a florist I also know how much these bouquets cost and I know that the price usually goes up around this time of the year.

This year, I have been telling KJ since about November to get me something pretty that won't die in a week. And to go to the grocery store and pick up and bouquet or two and I will be just as happy. He has a bit of a tough time this time each year with my birthday being 3 days after valentines day!

Any of the gifts would be perfect for to get yourself, or to give your Valentine as a hint!

Although, I do like the color pink, I try not to put too much of it in our house so that its not too girly. But Valentine's Day provides the perfect excuse for a little pink! Here are a few pictures from around the house that have a little splash of pink!

I finally ordered the shelves for my office makeover and I cannot wait for them to arrive. I had already planned on painting them gold, but I also love this tutorial on the faux marble shelves. I'm thinking I might have to do this along with paint it. Now I need to find some items to fill the shelves with. I am in love with this illustration (picture from top of post) from Rebecca Hinson. Everything she creates is stunning! So much talent and she is from Charleston. So, all her creations have my heart.

Our duvet insert has been on its last leg for a while now, so I finally ventured out this weekend and picked up a new one from Home Goods, it is Eddie Bauer and it is super soft. Even though that is all I went to Home Goods for, that is not all I walked out with. I picked up a set of salt and pepper shakers in Ralph Lauren's Blue Mandarin, the cutest little julep cup and a giant blue and white vase that I found on sale! I needed another blue and white vase like I need a hole in my head, but it was too cute to pass up!

Tomorrow, February 9th, is the last day to get 20% off my favorite cocktail napkins from the lovely ladies at Lumina Embroidery. Head over to their Etsy shop, pile lots of monogrammed goodies in your cart, then enter HappyBirthday20 at check out. With this code you can get a set of 4 monogrammed cocktail napkins for under $18! I ordered a set on Tuesday and they came in the mail on Saturday. Talk about service!!

This winter has killed my skin, especially my hands, more than usual so I had been hunting for a nice rich hand cream that wasn't too thick but also did the job. I finally settled on this amazing lotion from K Hall. It goes on thick but it doesn't feel slimy or gross on my hands. The peony scent is also amazing, but if you don't like it there are more to choose from.

Lastly, I order this tray and I cannot wait for it to come in. It comes in 3 sizes. I ordered the large, but I love all 3 sizes! I'm thinking it will look perfect on the dresser/cabinet in the kitchen. I think a few pineapple tumblers and a few thing things will fill it out nicely.

Here are some of my other pineapple favorites

My goal for February and March is to get my office in order and to make it a pretty space I want to be in. Also, my goal is to get a fiddle leaf tree! I think they complete any space. This is the 3rd place in our house that my office has been, but I think that this is where it is going to stay. I have most everything that I need for my office, but the one last "big" thing I need for my office. And I'm excited to take on my first Ikea hack.

Our spare bedroom used to be my office, but I am loving that I turned our dining room into my office. Since I spend 40+ hours a week in my office, I want this too be a place that I absolutely love!

On another note, I am a bit of a candle hoarder, and I have found a new candle obsession. So far the Peony Petal and Lilac Blossom are my favorites. These candles are very fragrant and the smell radiates from room to room, in a good way! These little candles are perfect for any room in your home. The Peony Petal scent has me in the mood for spring, but I think that mood also has something to do with the hot weather we have had this week. It was in the 80s!

These monogram cocktail napkins are my favorite, especially for summertime. The lovely ladies over at Lumina Embroidery are turing one. To celebrate they are giving 20% off now through February 9th just use code happybirthday20! I am trying to figure out what color napkin/monogram combo I want for my next set. I am thinking either white napkins with a white or light blue font. It is so hard to decide! Head over and get your own for less than $20 for a set of 4.

I hope that y'all have a wonderful weekend!

DIY Pom Pom Tote

I have had my eye on this tote for a while. I love all things Eliza Gran, and her baskets and totes are beautiful. But, I knew I could make myself one with some of the things I had around the house. This is an old straw tote from Target that they no longer carry, but Target does have some similar ones here and here

Scroll through these to see my favorite Eliza Gran totes and baskets.

Anyways, now on to how to make these pom poms. They are super easy to make! I wasn't too sure at first, but once you do one or two you can do it in your sleep!

I purchased a pom pom maker from Joann's, and I ended up using the larger of the 2 sizes to make these pom poms as well as the ones for my Valentine's Day garland. You don't have to use a pom pom maker, you can cut down a piece of cardboard to the width you would like. I have made pom poms both ways and using this pom pom maker makes them more even and fuller.

For this tote I ended up needing 8 pom poms. Always try to make a few more than you need, because once you go to attach them you end up needing more than when you first lay them out. Once you've made all your pom poms, lay them out on the tote in the order you want them on there.

Then once you have them laid out, all you have to do it sew them on. For this, I used a regular sewing needle and some cream thread. But if you have a bag with a looser weave, you can just tie them on with a piece of the yarn.

After a few minuets of sewing, you will have a pretty new pom pom tote to carry around with you! Simple, right?

There are so many possibilities! You can choose whatever color yarn you want and you can always mix and match. If you make your own, tag me! I would love to see!

I've currently got my tote filled to the brim with my Jack Rogers collection.  I can't wait til spring and summer because I have a good feeling this tote is going to get used all the time!

Blue and White Wednesday {No. 7}

Lamps have always been something that I have been drawn to. We have more lamps in our house than I care to admit. And this lamp is the newest one in my collection! It is a Ralph Lauren Home lamp, that I found at Home Goods. I love that it is a little bit of a lighter blue.

I am in love with this headboard and these walls! I would love to redo the guest room in this fabric. I think I am going to try to track down this fabric and use it to recover this stool that I recent picked up.  Any ideas on who this fabric is by?

To finish out my office, I have been looking for some gold shelves to put on either side of my desk. This photo is filled with inspiration on styling them. I am leaning towards these shelves from Ikea and painting them gold. I would much rather have this bookcase from Pottery Barn, but I don't like the price tag!!

My mom passed down to me her secretary desk that was given to her by my great grandmother. I am still looking for the perfect place for it in our home, but it is never to early to start brainstorming how I want to style it. I love the blue and white ginger jars that are toping the desk and I love the mix of family photos! I have some thoughts on where I want to put it and I can't wait to get it in the house.

I love all the custom plates and platters from Sasha Nicholas, and this blue and pink combo is perfect for the month of February. My birthday is coming up, maybe I will have some of these waiting for me!

I hope that y'all enjoy your Wednesday!

In 15 days I will be 25 years old, so I thought I would share my current wish list/birthday list! You can still make a birthday list at 25, right?

1 // I love this gold pouf and it would be perfect in the living room or even my office!

2 // Navy, gingham and monogrammed- three of my favorite things in one.

3 // I have these beauties in turquoise and I think the navy ones would be a perfect addition to my collection.

4 // Diptyque is my extravagant necessity, and I think they are well worth the money.

5 // Charleston forever has my heart, and it is probably the only city/downtown area I ever agree to live in.

6 // This bag is just amazing. I love the navy leather and the bamboo handles. Perfect for turning 25 without being too grown up.

7 // This bamboo bar cart is amazing! Keep it natural or paint it white or gold. I think my office needs this cart.

What do y'all have on your current wish list?

Valentine's Day Bar Cart

I cannot believe that today is February 1st! My family has so many birthdays in the month of February, including mine, but before we can celebrate my birthday we have Valentine's Day to think about. KJR and I have never really been people who like to go out on Valentine's Day, so we usually just do dinner at home.

Since we are going to be having dinner at home, cooked by yours truly, I wanted to make sure that the bar cart was dressed up and ready to celebrate!

This pretty Valentine's Day card is from my dad last year. It was way to pretty to just put in a box, and I love the personal touch it adds to the bar cart for Valentine's Day. The frame is a Ralph Lauren Home frame that I found at Marshall's for $10!! Best clearance find lately, with the exception of this gold Ralph Lauren lamp I found on sale for $40 at Home Goods.

Even though Valentine's Day is all about the color pink, I will certainly be pulling out my Blue Willow dishes for our Valentine's Day dinner.

Have you styled your bar cart for Valentine's Day yet? I hope y'all have a wonderful start to February 2016!
