Master Water Closet.

The water closet in our master bedroom has been left untouched decor wise since we moved in, painted and changed out the toilet. I was tired of the blank wall, but I wasn't sure what I wanted to put in there. The wall is tall and narrow, so I knew it couldn't be too wide.  PS. I love my top button toilet, I still don't think KJ loves it but I like the simple clean lines that it gives.

Mothers Day weekend my mom and I went out antique shopping and I stumbled across this item.

The only problem was that it needed a little more white on it, since our bathroom has a lot of grey and white decor in it. So I took some acrylic based white paint, and did some white washing.

I added the white paint to both the metal and the wood surround, lathering on more than I knew I would need. After I put it on, before it could dry I took a damp paper towel and took off some of the white paint, leaving patches where the original color could still show through.

After I hung this on the wall, I thought it also needed a little something extra since the wall is close to 10 foot tall, so I took 3 Starbucks bottles and made a flower holder.

Here is how I made it! You can try it too!

All you need is:

1. As many Starbucks bottles as you want to use - I used 3
2. A roll of twine - I got mine at Lowes
3.A piece of scrap wood - any length that fits your space

First, clean out the bottles, and removed the labels and expiration date. I used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser, it makes the job easier.

Then, wrap the twine to tie around the top as many times as you would like and tie it. Finally, attach the bottles to the board with some hot glue.

Then just hang it on the wall!

The end result is a one of a kind item, that anyone can make to add a special touch to any room in your home!
