This weekend I had the honor of attending a baby shower for a dear sweet family friend! However, this wasn't your typical baby shower. There was no big belly, no guess the weight and due date games because this sweet couple adopted a little girl. They had always planned on adopting, but they did not expect that it would be this soon. The whole process was a work of God from start to finish. She is now 7 weeks old and simply beautiful.
So since this shower was on the same day as the Kentucky Derby, I had to wear my derby hat!
Did you enjoyed any sweet tea recently? If not, enjoy some today!
Anyways, now on to the shower! It was very grand and delicious! There were roughly 40 people at the shower and we had a sit down dinner on fine china! It was beautiful!
Her grandmother has made a quilt for all of her children and grandchildren, now she is making one for her first great-grandchild! You could see the love in all of the stitches and feel the care that went into making this just by looking at it!
First off, the door and wreath was beautiful! Her whole home was stunning, but the door was a wonderful first impression!
I love a good monogram! How cute is this monogrammed canvas for the baby!
Adorable and simple centerpieces!
"Sugar and Spice Scrub" as a thank you gift to all of us for coming! How adorable is this? It also smells delightful!
How amazing is the detail work on these glasses!
See, fine china!! And these were just the desert plates! But, hey we do live in The South and that is the way to host a gathering.
One of the outdoor tables!
Mom and baby! They are so sweet! She is going to be such an amazing Godly mother!
This was my gift! It was a labor of love to put together. I love seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they are opening a gift I put so much work into!

Some of my favorite gifts! I mean monogrammed ruffled bloomers, what can be more cute?
This was a very special part of the shower, the family asked that instead of purchasing a gift that you assist the family with the adoption fees. Each person wrote a sweet note to the mom and dad. The tears of joy and appreciation were so touching. It is amazing the love around this little girl! Countless prayers have gone up for Bailey before she was even born and before this family was chosen.
P.S. even the backdoor wreath was amazing! I think this is the inspiration for my next wreath making adventure!
Here are a few photos I took of the gift that I put together.
I hope that y'all enjoyed your Derby weekend, whether you did nothing at all or went to the Derby! It was such a blessing to me seeing this little baby and seeing the pure joy on the faces of this family! If you have ever considered adoption, please pray and ask the Lord to show you His will! You can touch the life of a little one as well as the life of all of those around you!!
"I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him."
1 Samuel 1:27
