Springtime Dining Update

My oh my! This warm weather has me looking forward to spring more than ever! It also is keeping me motivated to stick to my weight loss goal! This past weekend was half beautiful and sunny and half dreary and rainy, so I spent the latter half updating my dining room tablescape! I just kept adding a tweaking and I must say I am pretty happy with the outcome!

Here is a single place setting at our table! {PS I am loving how the chairs turned out!} The cream flowers are from our wedding and we have oddles of them left over, so you can know find them all over mine and my parents house! I wanted to keep the colors very simple while adding the touch of navy, which is one of my favorite colors!

Note to all brides or soon-to-be brides out there:: Getting all white china was one of the best decisions I made! I had been in love with this Kate Spade china since its release! They used to make a red, white and navy salad plate, but have since stopped. However, you can still get an all white that has the matching basket weaving detail around the outside.

These mason jars are also from our wedding, we literally had hundreds of them! I am glad to say I am supporting the mason jar making business! I love the way the navy, green and light blue go together so well! It is very springy without being over the top!

 I am not even quite sure how the centerpiece really came together. I just kept layering in flowers until it looked like full of spring blooms! My background as a florist certainly played a role in creating this.

{PS- the wreath on the wall is also from our wedding! Some days I feel like I am reliving that day all over again! And I wouldn't mind to, but it was way too hot that day!}

Here are some more photos of the little details, just for fun!!

I also spruced up my side table, which I found at TJMaxx during Christmas and it was on sale! WIN WIN!!

The galvanized tall bucket was from my wedding and the plate was from an antique store in Atlanta that I found on a girls weekend with my mom. However, the Southern Comfort sign is my favorite, it is from the Moon Pie store in Charleston. Yes , I know this seems strange, but  it was on that trip that I got engaged to the man of my dreams and it reminds me of my late grandfather. He loved Moon Pies and ate them almost everyday, so when I saw this sign it immediately reminded me of him and I knew it needed to be in my home.

Okay, one last look! Who wants to come for tea? I hope that y'all have enjoyed my springtime dining room update as much as I enjoyed creating it! Have a wonderful Tuesday y'all!!

Mailbox Makeover

Spring is in the air, and the weather is beautiful! When we went to Lowes it was packed with people buying outdoor items and plants. Yes, my friends spring has seem to come here, and I am thankful for it!

When we bought our house the previous owners had planted some type of weird bush/small tree on either side of the mailbox and it was dead! So, I eventually dug it up and replanted some pretty flowers and those died. I cant say that I was too sad because they were not very pretty once they started to grow.

After last weekend and the motivation we had to get our yard beautified, I decided to makeover the area around our mailbox!

I dug out the old plants last weekend, so theses before photos just show the mailbox with nothing around them.

I originally wanted to put down white wooden planter boxes, but my search at Lowes and Home Depot came up empty. They only ones they had we just plain plastic or colored wooden boxes. I had almost given up, then I turned the corner and found this cute little picket fence. Now this was not made to be a box, but it was worth a shot and I was very happy with the outcome!

The difference in the left and the right it just amazing! Who knew that by adding such a small update would make such a big difference. I even had some neighbors stop by and check it out.

I am in LOVE with the outcome, this little change added so much life and color to our mailbox!

The color of these flowers are just amazing! I love the pink/peach color.

While I was snapping a few final photos, I looked up and saw the sun setting behind the trees! I am in awe of God's creation and handiwork!

I hope that y'all enjoyed my mailbox makeover! Have a wonderful week!!

Birthday Recap

Wow, I cannot believe my birthday is already over! I had such a wonderful time celebrating with my family! I am completely stuffed and I am working on a full detox from all the food and sweets I had!

KJ and I were in full on homeowner rehab mode this weekend. We trimmed our hedges, presser washed our walkway, planted some plants, made some new home decor items and all in all had a blast doing everything. Having the outside of our home finally start to look better was great way to spend my birthday weekend!

We have spent all of our time and energy getting the inside of our home looking beautiful that we neglected the outside, but this spring that is going to change.

All of the spur of the moment outdoor beautification of our home started with making a new wreath for out front door. { Sadly, the one that was up was our winter/Christmas wreath }

Please ignore the shoes and tiller, I was too excited to wait to take a photo!

 So, while I was at Lowe's getting spray paint for my monogram, I also picked up some hydrangeas for the front yard. Once I came home with these new projects KJ was hooked on working on more of the front.

I am in love with the new hydrangeas! I cannot wait for them to grow and fill up this whole space!

{This one has already bloomed!!}

Okay, so on to the birthday festivities! Well I am officially 24 years old, where has the time gone?? It really is true the life goes faster the older you get!!

So, the day started with my dogs escaping our back yard and running around in the woods behind on house. Then KJ served me breakfast in bed, how sweet is he!! PRECIOUS!! After breakfast and folding some laundry {yes, I did laundry on my birthday but I couldn't leave unfinished laundry in the dryer} my parents and us headed to St. Simon's Island, Georgia for some shopping and dinner!

Fun Fact: My dad and I share the same birthday, so it is always a double celebration!

I am quite the Daddy's girl, always have been and always will be!

The hubs and I took multiple photos before we left, but this was the only one he would smile in!

And, then we were off! Enjoy the photos! I went a little crazy at the dock!

We had dinner at Coastal Kitchen and dessert at St Simon's Sweets! I hope y'all enjoyed my birthday recap!! I hope you have an awesome hump day!!

xoxo,
