October Goals

October is one of the most wonderful times of the year, the weather gets cooler, pumpkins and pumpkin flavored dishes are everywhere and this is the month in which I met my wonderful husband. October breathes new life into this hot world and makes everyone more cheerful.

It has been a while since I sat down and wrote out goals for the month, but it is something that I need to do more often. I keeps me on track and motivated to make it through the month.

Here are my October Goals:

1. Do more daily cleaning, instead of getting stressed by a huge mess!
I want our home to be a retreat where we can come home each day and relax, and enjoy each others company as we close the day together. However, I am guilty of telling myself that I am too tired to get up and clean up my mess on a daily basis, yet I find myself up at wee hours of the night watching TV. So in October, I want to challenge myself to get up and clean up my little messes daily instead of spending all weekend cleaning up my huge mess!

2. Cook every weeknight!
This right here is a big thing for me! I spend time and money going to the grocery store to get food, but somehow when we look at our budget each month we are constantly spending tons of money on food outside of the food I purchased to cook. I know how to cook, and so far KJ has seemed to like most of the meals that I have whipped up. I am just being lazy, and that stops here! I have made out my meal plan and I plan on sticking to it!!

3. Encourage my Mister more through my words, actions and notes!
My husband is the kind of man who values encouragement, he might not always show how much it means to him, but I can certainly see it. Shortly after getting married we went to a marriage retreat for our church, and there we answered a short series of questions about our personality and it gave us our strengths and weaknesses so that we could help our spouse along in our marriage.

I spent sometime writing KJ a note and leaving it for him to see as he starts his day!

4. Be positive, and don't complain about things that are not important!
I hate to admit this, but I have a tendency to complain to my husband about unnecessary things, and I can tell that he does not enjoy hearing it. Being positive is always better than complaining and I know and believe that, but yet I find myself complaining about the littlest things! This is one of the goals that I want to place the most emphasis on; I don't want to be a negative Nancy all the time!!

5. Spend more time with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!
This is one of the hardest things that I struggle with on a daily basis! I think to myself that I don't have enough time in the day to really sit down and study the Word, but somehow I have all this time to sit on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and other Social Media outlets! This month I want to start putting down my phone, iPad and laptop and pick up my Bible and spend time with my Heavenly Father!

What are y'alls October Goals? If you don't have any I high encourage you to write some! I hope mine encourage you this month!!
